Julia Canney is a practitioner and advocate with expertise in gender, violence prevention and transitional justice. She currently serves as the policy and communications associate for the Impact: Peace initiative at the University of San Diego's Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. Canney received an MSc in Human Rights with a focus on gender and security in Dublin, Ireland, where she worked extensively on the 2018 referendum on reproductive rights. She is the 2021 gender in foreign policy fellow at Young Professionals in Foreign Policy
