Alfredo Toro Hardy is a retired Venezuelan diplomat, a scholar, and a noted author with more than 35 books on international affairs to his name. He served as the ambassador to the US, the UK, Spain, Brazil, Singapore, Chile, and Ireland. Hardy was also the director of the diplomatic academy. He is an honorary research fellow of the Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations and has been a visiting professor at Princeton, Brasilia, and Barcelona. Hardy has been a Fulbright Scholar, a two-time Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Resident Scholar, and an academic advisor to the University of Westminster.
