Wayej Kuruni is a Bangladeshi sociologist and South Asia analyst based in Türkiye. He completed an MA in sociology at Ibn Haldun University, Istanbul, where his thesis examined the stigmatization of Islamic symbols in Bangladesh’s public universities through qualitative interviews and campus-based documentation. He previously studied Islamic Studies at the University of Dhaka. His writing on Bangladesh, India and Türkiye-Bangladesh relations has appeared in Daily Sabah, Yeni Şafak, Fikir Turu, Politics Today and other platforms. His research interests include religion, secularism, student politics, stigma and public culture in South Asia.
