Matteo Boccia has worked at the European Commission and within international trade associations, where he has focused on geoeconomic and security issues in the Middle East and North Africa. His research has explored the geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics between Middle Eastern regional actors and global powers. He has traveled to Tunisia and Türkiye and specializes in China’s economic influence across the Red Sea and the Arabian Peninsula.
