Douglas Hauer is a lawyer who has spent his entire career fighting for immigrants. He is a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College in New York, and a doctoral candidate in Talmud and Rabbinics at the Jewish Theological Seminary. For many years, he served as a partner at Mintz Levin, a large law firm, and taught Immigration Law, Professional Responsibility and Jewish Law at Boston University School of Law. Douglas has a strong background in cross-border human rights activism and has traveled to countries such as Moldova, Armenia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Ukraine. Douglas is married to Jack Gilad, an endodontist, for nearly 30 years. They live in Boston with their two dogs and parrots.
