Cynthia Farahat is an Egyptian-American author and counterterrorism expert based in Virginia. She cofounded the Liberal Egyptian Party, which advocated peace with Israel and the separation of mosque and state. After an al-Qaeda-affiliated hit list, years of death threats and an assassination attempt, she immigrated to the United States. She has testified before the US House, briefed more than three hundred congressional offices and advised intelligence and law enforcement agencies. She received the Speaker of Truth Award and the Profile in Courage Award. Her work has been translated into more than 20 languages. She is the author of The Secret Apparatus: The Muslim Brotherhood’s Industry of Death (2022).
