Zurab Pololikashvili is the secretary-general of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Prior to his appointment, he was ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Georgia to Spain, Andorra, Algeria and Morocco and permanent representative of Georgia to the UNWTO until December 2017. As minister of economic development of Georgia between 2009 and 2010, Pololikashvili was responsible for overseeing the country’s long-term fiscal growth strategies as well as the tourism, infrastructure and transport sectors.
