William McChesney is a British-American foreign affairs analyst based in Washington, DC. He began writing after being tear-gassed in Lebanon during the October 2019 revolution. William has contributed to research at the US Treasury, the private sector and the think tank space, including reports on post-conflict recovery and global anti-money laundering efforts. He has authored articles for the publication Foreign Brief and produced multiple podcasts for the Middle East program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. William has worked in Russia, Central Asia and the Middle East, and is deeply committed to ethical finance and anticorruption. Outside of work, he enjoys rugby, travel and cooking, and shares his home with his wife and four cats.
