Wilfred Burchett

Wilfred Burchett (1911-83) was an Australian journalist whose career spanned the Second World War, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and reporting from behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. He was involved in a mission to rescue Jews from Adolf Hitler's Germany, and was the first reporter to disclose the effects of nuclear radiation after the Allied bombing of Hiroshima in 1945.
