Dr. Shri N. Singh, Sc.D., is a pioneer graduate of IIT Kanpur and earned his master’s and PhD in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in a record three years. He began his career as a Senior Research Scientist at US Steel Research, where his innovations in steel technology earned international recognition, including the John Chipman and Alfred Nobel Prizes in 1976 and the Frank B. McKune Award in 1979. After a decade in research, he founded and ran a successful manufacturing company in New Jersey, producing cubic zirconia for 25 years. Now retired, he continues to teach and conduct research in materials science and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Government of India in 2015.
