Dr. Robert J. Wallis joined the Department of Art History at The Open University in September 2020, prior to which he was a professor of visual culture at Richmond University, London, for 18 years. One of his research interests is the representation of the past in the present, including by today's heathens. He is a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, a fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He holds a PhD in archaeology from the University of Southampton.
