Rita Kothari

Rita Kothari is a leading translator, writer and academic from India. She writes on language politics, borders and partition, as she moves between both textual and non-textual boundaries through ethnography and translation and comments on cultural politics of South Asia. With several books, articles and awards to her credit, Kothari is currently translating a memoir based on 1969 riots, and writing a book titled “A Multilingual Nation.” She is a former Fulbright visiting professor, Bellagio resident and recipient of many prestigious awards.
