Muttaki Bin Kamal is a Bangladeshi anthropologist and doctoral candidate at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He holds multiple master’s degrees in anthropology, religious studies, and peace and conflict studies. His research focuses on complexity science, environmental anthropology and multispecies ethnography, with fieldwork in the tea-plantation landscapes of Sylhet, Bangladesh. Kamal has published widely on topics ranging from hydropolitics to colonial legacies. He is passionate about bridging academic research with public discourse and frequently contributes op-eds on global issues. Outside academia, he enjoys writing, photography and exploring ecological interconnections.
