Sir Mark Tully is the former Bureau Chief of BBC New Delhi. Born in British India and educated in England, he returned to India as a BBC correspondent and reported extensively on rural India and the political developments during the state of emergency in the 1970s. He is the author of well-known books on India, including: “No Full Stops in India,” “The Heart of India,” “India’s Unending Journey” and “Non-Stop India.”
