Kristeena Monteith is a Jamaican media-for-development specialist with over seven years of experience producing youth-centered civic media in Jamaica. She was also a Chevening scholar exploring community media and youth civic engagement for an MA in Media and Creative Industries at Loughborough University, UK. In light of her dedication to using media to develop and support solutions to social issues in Jamaica and globally, Monteith was selected by the UN secretary-general's envoy on youth as one of 17 Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals in 2018.
