Justin D. Martin, Ph.D., is a journalism professor at Northwestern University in Qatar. His research focuses on media, politics and matters of free speech in Arab countries. A former Fulbright Scholar in Jordan, Martin speaks several dialects of Arabic and has lived, conducted research, and reported in several Arab countries. His doctorate is in journalism from the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.
