Daniela Apaydin is a research associate at the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) in Vienna, focussing on the issues of civil society, science communication and environmentalism in Central and Central Eastern Europe. She studied journalism and corporate communications in Graz and St. Petersburg, and holds a master's degree in Central European studies from Andrássy University Budapest, where she recently defended her PhD in history.
