Daniel J. Fernández-Guevara is a historian and academic specializing in Cuban history, migration and international solidarity. He is a visiting researcher at Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Estudios Latinoamericanos (IELAT) in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. He served as a Fulbright postdoctoral research scholar at the Spanish Research Council (CSIC)’s Instituto de Historia, in Spain and as the managing editor for the journal Cuban Studies. Additionally, he has taught courses on Caribbean, world and Cold War Latin American history at institutions such as Santa Fe College (Florida and the University of Florida). He earned his PhD in Latin American History from the University of Florida as a McKnight Doctoral Fellow.
