Christina Maags

Christina Maags is lecturer in Chinese politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Prior to joining SOAS, she completed a PhD in Political Science at the University of Frankfurt and studied in Oxford, Frankfurt and Bonn. Moreover, she has been a visiting fellow at the Australian National University. Her research interests include state-society relations, multi-level governance, local policy implementation, and policy transfers and experimentation in the People’s Republic of China. Using these analytical frameworks as a lens, she has particularly conducted research on cultural heritage politics and the politics of demographic aging in contemporary China.
