Biraj Patnaik is the South Asia director of Amnesty International. He previously served the Office of the Supreme Court Commissioners on the right to food in India, where he was responsible for the oversight of food programs of the Indian government on behalf of the court. He was concurrently the associate director of the Centre for Equity Studies, a Delhi-based public policy and advocacy institution. Patnaik brings his two-decades experience of working on human rights issues and is acknowledged as one of the leading voices on the right to food and nutrition globally.
