Barun Mohanty is an Indian global social-impact leader, angel investor and former partner at McKinsey & Company. He spent nearly 15 years as the Managing Director, International for the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, spearheading initiatives to improve education, livelihood and financial services for urban children in India and South Africa. Married to writer and Fair Observer editor Ranjani Iyer Mohanty, he holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and a Master of Business Administration from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. Mohanty is a trustee for the Maitri Trust, a board member for Plan International Canada, and a members assembly delegate for Plan International.
