Arthur is an Austrian-Taiwanese writer and commentator who specializes in European security, identity and democratic movements. His work has appeared in The Neue Zürcher Zeitung, EUobserver and The Diplomat, among others. As an MPhil candidate and Clarendon Scholar at the University of Oxford, his research interests encompass national identity, nation-building and collective memory. In his role as a research assistant to Timothy Garton Ash at the European Studies Centre’s Dahrendorf Programme, he works on European affairs, perceptions of Europe and contemporary history. Arthur is a Reservist in the Austrian Armed Forces and worked in Mergers and Acquisitions before joining the University of Oxford.
