Amritha Purohit is a high school senior in Brooklyn. She has been working with ABAAD: Afghan Women Forward for the past four years, and through them has had the opportunity to speak to women and children suffering under the Taliban in Afghanistan. She is the editor of her school’s literary magazine and is passionate about women’s rights, history and philosophy. Amritha’s writing has been featured in the New York Post, American Kahani and Skipping Stones Magazine.
