Amirah Darwisyah Hamita is a Volunteer Research Associate at Global Awareness and Impact Alliance (GAIA), a nonprofit organization based in Brunei Darussalam. As a recent graduate of University College London (UCL), Amirah currently works at Brunei’s national broadcasting channel (Radio Television Brunei) as a News and Current Affairs intern. With an academic background in English Literature (BA Honours) and work experience in industries spanning from broadcast journalism, finance, asset management and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), Amirah brings a multi-disciplinary and diverse perspective to her work. Her professional interests include the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and British politics, Sino-ASEAN economic relations and business developments in emerging and developed markets. When she is not writing, she can be found at the gym, swimming or practising martial arts.
