Alexander is a 2010 graduate of the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies, where he received his MSc in Middle Eastern Politics. After graduating he planned on working in Libya for an economic consultancy, though the Arab Spring would preclude this opportunity. Returning to the US he interned for a leading Middle East democracy advocacy organization in DC and is now a Program Assistant in the Middle East division of an international development organization specializing in democracy and elections. He has a keen interest in North African and Gulf politics, is an avid bicyclist, and enjoys rock climbing, camping, skiing, and white water rafting.
