An Afghan girl helps her mother (not shown) pack up items she received for completing a series of health and welfare classes, Nov. 25, 2009, at the governors compound in Asadabad, Afghanistan. The gifts were for Kunar province women who completed multiday classes on flu prevention and treatment and basic first aid. The classes were taught by Afghan teachers. Once completed the women were paid 500 Afghan dollars, approximately $10, issued basic house hold items and are now expected to return to their villages and train other women in their areas. More than 400 women completed the classes and received items ranging from blankets and sewing kits to shoes, pans and small radios. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
