Taif Jany

Taif Jany is the program manager at the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) in Washington, DC. Forced to flee Iraq in 2007, he sought refuge in Damascus, Syria, where he lived for almost two years. Jany was accepted to Union College in New York where he earned a BA in sociology and French in 2012. Living through the 2003 war on Iraq and witnessing its tragic outcomes has nourished Taif’s aspirations to fight for peacebuilding, social and economic justice, and international human rights.
