Satish K. Tripathi is the 15th president of the University at Buffalo (UB), the State University of New York. Appointed in 2011, he is an internationally distinguished researcher and higher education leader. Tripathi was UB’s provost from 2004 to 2011, dean of the Bourns College of Engineering at the University of California-Riverside from 1997 to 2004, and spent 19 years as professor of computer science at the University of Maryland. He graduated at the top of his class from Banaras Hindu University in India and holds a doctorate in computer science from the University of Toronto. Tripathi is a fellow of the IEEE and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
