Robert Phayre (Robin) was born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1949. Because his father served as the UK Military Attaché, Robin traveled extensively with his family to Greece, Persia, Jordan, Germany and Holland. After graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Robin was commissioned into the Light Infantry Regiment, serving in diverse locations like Northern Ireland, Hong Kong, the Falkland Islands, Brunei and the UK. Over his 30-year military career, he held several significant roles, including Platoon and Company Commander, and served as an Instructor at Sandhurst. He commanded a Training Depot and a Training Regiment, training the next generation of soldiers. After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, Robin transitioned into the commercial sector, working as a project and risk manager and founding his own company in 2014, focusing on Risk, Cyber and Business Continuity Management. He also engaged in commercial drone flying and began researching his family history, inspired by the work of his father and grandfather.
