Richard White is a security specialist, freelance writer and author of Insurgentsia, a blog on political violence, terrorism and small wars. He served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and United States Air Force, and is an Iraq War veteran with military or professional experience in Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan. White holds a BA in International Security Studies from the University of Oklahoma and studied Arabic in Jordan.
