Rebecca Locher is an American student, researcher and writer based in New York City. Her work focuses on democratic resilience, gender and LGBTQ+ equity and the role of journalism in shaping policy and justice. She is currently a Dean’s Undergraduate Research Fellow at New York University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in international relations with minors in journalism and economics. Rebecca has worked with the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, where she contributed to advocacy for nuclear disarmament, and with her bold move, supporting female candidates and promoting gender equality in politics. She also serves on the board of three student publications at NYU. Rebecca has studied abroad in Shanghai and Florence, speaks English, Spanish and French, and is passionate about leveraging narrative to bridge the gap between research, advocacy and lived experience.
