Raj Sekhar Aich is a professor at Sister Nivedita University. His research centers on cultural and natural landscapes, particularly how they are influenced by the physical and symbolic relationships between humans and marine environments and life forms. Raj conducted pioneering ethnographical research on white shark cage diving in New Zealand, the first of its kind, and the first academic investigation into shark attacks in the Sundarbans region of India. Through his work, Raj aims to make substantial contributions to transdisciplinary research, marine social sciences and anthrozoology. He holds PhDs in marine anthropology and applied psychology.
