Patrick Weil

Patrick Weil is a French historian, a senior research fellow at the National Research Center in the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a visiting professor at Yale Law School. Patrick’s work focuses on comparative immigration, citizenship, and church-state law and policy. His most recent books are The Madman in the White House: Sigmund Freud, Ambassador Bullitt, and the Lost Psychobiography of Woodrow Wilson (Harvard UniversityPress, 2023) and De La Laïcité en France (Folio/Gallimard 2022). In 2006, Patrick founded Libraries Without Borders (Bibliothèques Sans Frontières) and continues as its chairman.
