Natalie Halla

Natalie Halla is an award-winning Austrian documentary filmmaker, producer and scriptwriter. Her work primarily focuses on humanitarian and social issues. Since 2010, she has independently produced and directed numerous feature-length documentaries, including The Last Ambassador (2025), a documentary following the Afghan ambassador to Austria and her resistance against the Taliban; The Shamans’ Nightmare (2021), an award-winning film exploring indigenous nomadic cultures; and Nowhere (2018), the story of a former child refugee who survived a boat odyssey and eventually provides other boat refugees medical care. Halla has served as a jury member for international film festivals and conducted masterclasses on independent filmmaking.
