Nadia Oweidat is an academic who specializes in the religions, cultures and politics of the Middle East and North Africa region. An intellectual historian by training, she is an assistant professor at Kansas State University, currently on secondment to the US Department of State. Nadia holds a D.Phil. in Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford (2014), an MA in International Studies from the University of Wyoming and a BA in English Literature from the University of Jordan. She was born and raised in Jordan, immigrating to the US in late 1999. During the 2022–2023 academic year, Nadia was a fellow at the Wilson Center, working on her second book on digital authoritarianism.
