Mirwais Balkhi is a visiting scholar at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Services. From 2018 to 2020, he served as the minister of education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Earlier, Balkhi served as Afghanistan's deputy ambassador to India. Balkhi holds a PhD in international relations with a specialization in West Asia from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. He has published numerous academic articles both in English and Persian.
