Mahesh Jethmalani is an Indian lawyer and a politician. He is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India. Mahesh was also a member of the National Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party until 2012. Born in 1956, Mahesh studied at St. Paul's School, Darjeeling, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and read philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Oxford before studying law in London and being called to the Bar in the UK. He has practiced law in India for 42 years and presently practices in Indian Supreme Court. This member of parliament has led a storied law career in India who represented Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Gujarat Riot Cases when he was chief minister of Gujarat before the Supreme Court of India. Mahesh is an avid outdoorsman who has not let age, injuries or surgeries slow him down.
