Kae Bahar

Kae Bahar is a Kurdish actor, writer and filmmaker based in the UK. Arrested by Saddam Hussein’s secret police at the age of 14 and miraculously saved from death row, he had no prospect of a future in Iraq. In 1980, he left for Europe where he started to work as an actor. Bahar has reported and produced several films for Channel 4, the BBC, More 4 News and Al Jazeera International. His latest documentary, “No Friends But the Mountains,” is his latest film completed in 2017, and his first novel is called “Letters from a Kurd.” He holds a BA in Film and Media from Birkbeck, University of London.
