Joseph Bouchard is a journalist and researcher. Originally from Quebec City, Canada, he has lived extensively in South America, covering geopolitics, security and democracy in the region for North American and foreign audiences. He has written for The Intercept, The Diplomat, Reason, Responsible Statecraft, The National Interest, RealClearPolitics and Le Devoir, among others. He is currently a PhD student in Latin American Politics at the University of Virginia.
