John A. Stevenson
John A. Stevenson is a senior software developer at the British Geological Survey. He writes code to process, store, analyze and share geospatial data using open source tools (Python, QGIS, GRASS, PostGIS). He has been doing volcanology research since 2001 and has worked on topics such as field mapping, physical volcanology, volcano monitoring, remote sensing and eruption modelling. Stevenson is a visiting researcher at Edinburgh University and he supervises PhD students both there and at The Open University.
