Professor John Friedman is a sociocultural anthropologist known for his passionate, student-centered teaching. For over two decades, he taught anthropology at University College Roosevelt, part of Utrecht University in the Netherlands, before being made redundant in early 2025 amid budget cuts and program restructuring. Friedman advocates for humanistic inquiry and lifelong learning beyond institutional walls.
