Gilar Budi Pratama is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia. His research focuses on fisheries oceanography, spatial modeling of pelagic fish habitats and ecosystem-based fisheries management. His work integrates satellite oceanographic data and statistical modeling to understand the dynamics of tropical tuna habitats and their implications for sustainable fisheries governance. His research also explores the relationship between oceanographic variability, large pelagic fish distribution and climate change in the Indian Ocean and Maritime Continent region.
