Edmund Ghareeb is a prominent academic, journalist and writer specializing in Iraq, the Kurds, media coverage of the Palestine-Israel conflict, and US foreign policy regarding ethnic and religious identity. He has taught at esteemed institutions, including Georgetown University and McGill University, and holds an MA and a PhD from Georgetown. Ghareeb was the first Mustafa Barzani Distinguished Scholar in Global Kurdish Studies at American University and has authored or co-authored 12 books, including War in the Gulf and The Kurdish Question in Iraq. A former correspondent for various Middle Eastern publications, he has lectured widely across continents and testified before the US Congress, addressing key issues such as the Arab-Israeli conflict and US-Arab relations.
