Dr. Yusuf Bicer is an associate professor of sustainable development in the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha, Qatar. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Control Engineering and master’s degree in Energy Science and Technology at Istanbul Technical University. He went on to earn his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Ontario Tech University, Canada. His PhD thesis investigated photoelectrochemical-based hydrogen and ammonia production options.
His research focuses on solar energy utilization in various processes, such as effective cooling in greenhouses, developing renewable-based integrated energy systems with desalination, carbon capture and conversion and clean fuel production.
