Bálint Szolga is a 23-year-old Hungarian political journalist and analyst currently writing for national outlet Kontroll, with seven years of journalism experience. He started at Népszava at 15, the paper’s youngest contributor in its 153-year history. He was an on-field reporter at Hungary’s National Election Office during the April 2026 election that ended Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule. Bálint holds a BA in Political Science from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest and will begin ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism MMC program on a full Graduate Assistantship this fall. Outside politics, he’s a Manchester United and AC Milan fan who follows Formula 1 closely, supporting Ferrari since early childhood.
