Antonio Fatas is Professor of Economics at INSEAD. He is also the Portuguese Council Chaired Professor of European Studies; a Senior Policy Scholar at the Center for Business and Public Policy at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University; and a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research. He has worked as an external consultant for major international organizations, including the IMF, World Bank, the OECD and European Commission. His research interests include macroeconomics, with a focus on understanding business cycles, the role of fiscal policy and the connections between volatility and growth.
