Anila Ali is a Pakistani-American interfaith leader, educator and civil rights advocate. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Joseph’s Convent, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Karachi, and a Master of Education degree from Concordia University, Irvine. Ali spent decades as a California public school teacher and cofounded CALPAK Educational Services. She founded the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council to combat extremism and champion women’s rights. Ali served as a delegate to the 2012 and 2016 Democratic National Conventions and presented at the 2015 White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism. She frequently leads historic Muslim delegations to Israel to foster interfaith alliances and promote religious freedom.
