Dr. Alix Willemez is an independent expert in ocean governance, climate finance and international environmental law, with over 14 years advising organizations including the United Nations, the Global Environment Facility and the African Development Bank Group. She holds a PhD in the Law of the Sea from Sorbonne University, an MSc from the University of Cambridge, and a Master’s degree from the College of Europe. She previously served on the board and scientific committee of the Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative. A diver and photographer recognized by the Paris Match Grand Prix, she authored a world cookbook, multiple children’s ocean books and French-language science books, including one on personal finance (Dunod/Maxima). She is a prominent keynote speaker and sustainability writer.
