As Richard Wong and I were photographing the beach, fence, and various other things at Border Field State Park, I saw these Mexican kids poking their heads through the fence. They waved, so I waved back. I guess that was the signal for “come on over”. One kid slipped through the fence, then four more followed. They weren’t shy.

They came right over and I could see that they were interested in the cameras. So I hit the playback on the dSLR and chimped with them for a while. Then they grabbed the bug piece of kelp on the beach and dragged it back over to their side of the beach.
