President Obama will not meet Netanyahu on his US trip, due to the Israeli elections.
On March 3, Binyamin “Bibi” Netanyahu will address Congress for a third time. Having accepted an invitation by Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner, the Israeli prime minister has sparked political uproar in the United States.
With Israel heading for early elections on March 17, Netanyahu will likely push for further sanctions on Iran in a bid to derail nuclear talks between the Iranians and the P5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany). If the prime minister succeeds, he will surely garner support at the ballot box.
But what does the White House make of Bibi’s trip to DC?
